Terms of Service
Last updated October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Craicked LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“we”, “us”). They cover Gaffer, the service at teamgaffer.com and app.teamgaffer.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you use the Service for an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you have the authority to do so.
The Service
Gaffer coordinates AI coding agents. You keep a board of work on our servers, and Gaffer’s runtime, which you install on your own computers, runs agents in clones of your repositories, reports what they are doing, and opens and merges pull requests under the rules you set.
Your Account
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details and any tokens Gaffer issues secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including actions taken by machines and agents you connect to it.
Plans, Seats and Billing
- Gaffer is billed per seat, each month, in US dollars (USD). Current prices are on our pricing section: Starter at $9.99 USD per seat a month, and Team at $19.99 USD per seat a month.
- The Starter plan holds up to five people. A pending invitation holds a seat. People who only read the board are free and take no seat.
- We bill in advance at the start of each period through our payment processor, Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Prices don’t include taxes. If any apply, you are responsible for them.
- If we change a price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and the new price starts at your next renewal after that.
Free Trial
A new account starts with a 14-day free trial of the Starter plan, one trial per account. A payment card is required to start it. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and we charge your card $9.99 USD per seat, then monthly until you cancel.
Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel anytime in Settings → Billing. Your access continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains cancellation, refunds, seat and plan changes, and failed payments, and is part of these terms.
Your Content
- “Your content” is what you or your agents put into the Service: cards, briefs, comments, questions and answers, rules, and the details of your repositories and pull requests.
- You own your content. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to provide the Service to you and the people you share your account with.
- We don’t sell your content, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Your Code, Your Machines and Your AI Providers
- Gaffer’s runtime runs on computers you control and acts in your repositories with the access you give it. It is licensed separately, under the MIT License, which governs its code.
- Agents run through your own Claude Code or Codex account. You are responsible for following GitHub’s terms and your AI provider’s terms, and for paying them.
- AI agents make mistakes. You decide which work needs a person’s review before it merges, and you are responsible for the changes that land in your repositories, including changes your rules let merge without review.
Acceptable Use
Don’t use the Service to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- store or spread malware, or attack or probe other systems;
- disrupt, overload or try to get around the security or limits of the Service;
- resell the Service, or give access to people outside your account, without our written agreement.
Changes to the Service
We are continually improving Gaffer, and features may change. If we remove something important to a paid plan, we will tell you in advance. We work to keep the Service available but don’t promise it will always be uninterrupted.
Suspension and Termination
You can stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, don’t pay, or put the Service or other customers at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first. When your account ends, our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims from third parties that arise from your content, your repositories, or your breach of these terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.
